Housing built since 1990
Behind the 1990s, the same survey counts 2,508 units from the 2000s (28.3%), 1,526 from the 1980s (17.2%), 891 from the 2010s and 542 from before 1980, and it puts the median year built at 1997, with a margin of error of one year. Single-family detached houses make up 7,528 of the units, or 84.9%; owners live in 6,550 of the 8,540 occupied homes, about 76.7%; and the median owner-occupied home is valued at $375,600. The 2020 Census counted 22,634 residents, and the Census Bureau estimates 25,297 on July 1, 2025.
Railway stop to commuter city
The Dallas and Wichita Railway named Corinth when it built tracks through the townsite in 1880, and the community celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1980. A few independent farmers still worked there in the 1980s, though most residents commuted to Lewisville, Denton or Dallas, and the 1970s development along Interstate 35 took the population from 461 in 1970 to 3,944 in 1990 and 11,325 in 2000, according to the Handbook of Texas. The City dates its incorporation to September 19, 1960, covers about 8 square miles and has had a council–manager government since May 6, 1999.

(469) 526-3886Building Services and the swimming pool packet
Corinth requires a permit for any major construction within the city limits, filed through the City's Civic Access portal, and Building Services works under the 2021 International Building Code, with its mechanical, plumbing and fire codes, and the 2020 National Electrical Code. The City's pages don't say whether resetting or replacing pool tile counts as major construction, so put the question to Building Services before the water is lowered.
What the City inspects on a new pool
The City's 2021 swimming pool packet names its adopted codes as the 2021 International Residential Code and, for wiring, the 2020 National Electrical Code. Among the inspections it requires for a new pool are the stakeout, belly steel and electrical bond before any gunite goes in, deck steel with bond, underground electrical and plumbing, and a pre-plaster and final inspection. The concrete deck must be at least three and one-half inches thick, with #3 rebar no more than eighteen inches apart each way, and steel inspections wait for 38 degrees and rising. An in-ground pool permit costs $550, an above-ground one $200, and permits expire 180 days after they are issued.
Placement and the pool barrier
The packet keeps a new pool five feet or more from the rear and side lot lines, out of every easement, and clear of any building foundation by five feet plus one foot for each foot of pool depth, unless an engineer's letter allows less; the City measures to the pool structure, not the water's edge. Under Ordinance No. 02-05-02-12, a new pool's barrier stands at least 48 inches high, lets no 4-inch sphere through, swings its gates outward with self-closing, self-latching hardware and may not be wire mesh. Before water goes into a new pool, the permanent fence and gates, the sod and an alarm on any house door that opens to the pool must be installed and approved.

(469) 526-3886Sandy loams, moderate clays and the top of the pool wall
Inside Corinth's Census boundary, the soil survey maps 23 units, led by Gasil fine sandy loam on about 22.4% and the Birome-Rayex-Aubrey complex on 21.9%, then Callisburg fine sandy loam at 12.1% and Birome fine sandy loam at 10.4%. Gasil's linear extensibility tops out at 1.8 percent, which the 1980 Denton County survey would call low; the Birome, Rayex, Aubrey and Callisburg soils reach 4.5 percent, which that survey calls moderate, and it notes that moderate to very high shrink-swell can damage structures and often calls for special design.
On a pool, that kind of movement tends to show at the tile line. A pool structural engineering firm traces it to the deck: where no flexible joint is doing its job at the coping, the slab's seasonal growth and shrinkage frequently shoves coping and tile loose and opens horizontal cracks in the waterline tile, and an unbonded leveling layer on top of the bond beam can bring the same cracks back again and again.
Tile and setting materials for a submerged band
LATICRETE's pool guide calls for impervious tile, absorbing under 0.5 percent water, or vitreous tile, under 3.0 percent, since tile soaking up more than 3 percent can swell for good. It recommends paper face-mounted mosaics, sets pool tile in mortars rated for continuous submersion and recommends epoxy adhesives to rule out deterioration from chemical attack. For translucent glass, Oceanside Glass & Tile wants a thin-set that meets ANSI A118.4 or A118.15, or ISO C2, and lists bright-white thin-sets made for it, since the setting material affects how the glass looks.
Upper Trinity water, cure times and the refill
The Upper Trinity Regional Water District supplies Corinth's water. The City promotes Upper Trinity's “Water My Yard” program, which recommends watering landscapes no more than twice a week, and says it must keep Drought Contingency and Water Conservation plans under the TCEQ rules in Title 30, Part 1, Chapter 288 of the Texas Administrative Code; ask the City which stage applies before the pool's water comes down.
Makers set the wait before it goes back up. LATICRETE waits at least 14 days at 70°F before filling over latex-fortified cement grout, or 10 days over epoxy grout, while Oceanside Glass & Tile asks for 21 days unless the setting-material maker says otherwise. LATICRETE then has the pool filled at about 2 feet every 24 hours, and MAPEI's specification holds the air and the surface at 50°F to 95°F during tiling and for at least 7 days afterward.

(469) 526-3886Parks from Corinth Farms to Thousand Oaks Pond
The City's parks include Corinth Community Park, Corinth Farms Park, the Corinth Nature Preserve and Corinth Unleashed, the bark park, along with Eagle Pass, Fairview, Kensington, Knoll, Meadow Oaks, Meadowview, Mulholland, Naughton, Windsor Ridge and Woods parks and Thousand Oaks Pond, all open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The city line runs through neighborhoods, too: the City of Lake Dallas says the 540 homes around River Oaks Park, in the Thousand Oaks neighborhood, lie partly in Lake Dallas and partly in Corinth. Lake Dallas has a page of its own, on pool painting in Lake Dallas.
Tile beside coping, cleaning and plaster
Targeted waterline tile repair runs $15 to $30 per linear foot in typical Dallas–Fort Worth figures for 2026. Across the 80 to 120 linear feet of waterline that a typical pool has, a full waterline replacement usually comes to $1,200 to $3,600, and a full retile of most residential pools to $3,000 to $8,000. Treat those as published ranges, not quotes from us.
Alongside tile, Flower Mound Pool Resurfacing takes on coping repair, tile cleaning and calcium removal, glass tile finishes, mastic and expansion joints, and replastering. Close by, see pool acid wash in Shady Shores.
Steps in a tile repair
Find the cause
LATICRETE advises working out why the tile failed before repairing it, so the cause can be corrected and later repairs kept down.
Ask Building Services
Corinth’s rule covers any major construction; the City decides whether a tile job counts.
Lower the water
For work at the waterline, the level comes down below the tile line.
Cut out and clean
Loose or cracked tiles are cut free with a grinder or saw fitted with a dust attachment, old thin-set is ground back to the concrete, and the shell is left free of dust, residue and standing water.
Set and seal
New tile goes into a submersion-rated mortar, and a flexible sealant, not grout, fills the joint where tile meets coping or deck.
Cure and refill
The grout cures for its maker’s period, then the water rises at about 2 feet a day.

(469) 526-3886Pool tile repair questions in Corinth
How to fix swimming pool tiles?
Cut out only what has failed. LATICRETE's repair sheet removes each cracked or loose tile by cutting around its edges, grinds the old thin-set down to the top of the concrete, taking care not to damage any waterproofing membrane underneath, and sets the replacement in an adhesive made for submersion. Where the old tile is sound and well bonded, LATICRETE allows new tile over it: the old surface is scrubbed and rinsed, a thin skim coat goes on, then more mortar is combed on and the new tile beaten in.
How do I repair pool grout?
Take the failed grout out first. LATICRETE removes it with a medium- to high-pressure washer, where the spray won't harm anything around it, or saw-cuts the joints with diamond blades until it reaches sound grout or the bedding mortar; the joints are then vacuumed, rinsed and left to dry completely before new grout goes in. For a crack at the waterline, the water is lowered below the tile line and the loose grout cleared with a grout saw or an oscillating tool. LATICRETE keeps acid-based cleaners off its grouts until the pool is filled.
What type of epoxy grout is best for pool tiles?
One that meets ANSI A118.3, the epoxy grout standard in MAPEI's pool tile specification. Epoxy grouts contain no portland cement, so water treatment doesn't break them down, LATICRETE says, though sunlight may discolor them without hurting their performance. On glass tile, LATICRETE and Interstyle warn that sanded grout may scratch the surface, and Oceanside Glass & Tile cautions that blue, green and red grouts may not suit submerged use.
